2026 Membership Guidelines

The Richmond Food Truck Association Inc. ("RFTA") is a diverse collection of locally-owned and operated food trucks dedicated to providing RVA with a delicious variety of cuisines served by courteous owners and team members from mobile units that can reach the entirety of the region. As such, we are an association built on transparency and accountability. All members (each a "Member," collectively, "Members") of the RFTA acknowledge and agree to abide by these Membership Guidelines adopted by RFTA's Board of Directors (the "Board"). • Members must maintain for their trucks and/or trailers current health permits, business licenses, and any other licenses mandated by the cities, counties and states in which they operate at all times, including all associated requirements such as ServSafe certifications, vendor permits, etc. Members agree they will not operate or attempt to operate their trucks and/or trailers without proper city, county and state certification. Member trucks must provide a copy of their current business license and health permit to complete the RFTA membership application process. • Members must maintain a general liability insurance policy that meets all local and state requirements with at least $1,000,000 in limits. Members agree to furnish a copy of their Certificate of Insurance as part of the RFTA membership application process. Members also agree that they will provide a copy of their Certificate of Insurance to prospective customers who book a Member through the RFTA website and require a COI to hire or book said Member. • Membership is open to trucks and trailers that operate as a Class IV Mobile Food Unit as defined on Page 8 of the Virginia Department of Health Guidelines. • Members are required to represent themselves and the RFTA in a professional and courteous manner and to abide by the RFTA Code of Conduct attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein as part of these Membership Guidelines. If a Member engages in actions or behavior that could be seen as detrimental to the RFTA or to other Members, or fails to comply with the Code of Conduct, those actions or noncompliance with the Code of Conduct will be investigated by the Board. The Board may, by a majority vote of the Board, revoke the membership of a Member who they deem has engaged in conduct detrimental to the RFTA. Membership dues for a revoked membership are non-refundable. • In all RFTA documents and websites, and anywhere Members are listed as RFTA Members, Members will be listed by their DBA name and the name is printed on their mobile food unit and marketing materials. No prefixes before the name or altering of a Member's name are allowed. • Members agree to pay the following dues that will provide them membership through December 31, 2026, provided they continue to operate and act in accordance with these Membership Guidelines: $300 per truck brand (multiple trucks under the same brand/same listing on the RFTA website may operate under a single membership). Multiple brands/listings under the same ownership will require a separate membership for each brand/listing. Membership dues must be paid before an application is reviewed by the Board for approval. 2025 members renewing prior to 1/31/2026 will have their annual dues reduced to $250. • The Board or a third party authorized by the Board will review all RFTA membership applications to ensure that they are complete, correct, and in accordance with the Membership Guidelines set forth herein. • By completing a membership application, the individual completing the application agrees that they are a duly authorized representative of the Member and that they, their owners, and their employees will abide by these Membership Guidelines for the entire time they remain members of the RFTA.
